I was soooo close to her and sooooooo close to getting my picture with her when she was whisked away by security and protected so I didn’t actually get to meet her, but it was awesome that she came. Hong Wei was there too, but as a men’s doubles player I don’t care about him as much.
Fun gossip: They are married and both live in Xiamen. Woot! See how awesome Xiamen badminton is? Even at a little competition held specifically for old people (aka very few gaoshou-expert- level players) we get pro players from the national team stopping by.
